Hi there, garyndakari! For future reference, if you go to /submit, you can submit longer inquiries / more info that won’t fit in an ask! :) Like if you go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers(Not the device manager) then right click > properties on the tablet, then go to hardware, what all should be there if it’s installed correctly? Just the base driver, or the driver plus a few HIDs? The DeviantArt blog mentioned that if the curser jumps around the tablet may need replacing, I’m just wondering if that’s the problem or if it really is just drivers being dumb. At some point in the dozen-or-so variations on uninstall/reinstalling things, I got some, but not all the HIDs to stay out, so I’m wondering, are any related to the tablet supposed to be there with a correct install? I’ve disabled flicks, and the hold-for-right click nonsense. I’ve also set Windows Update to never auto-install drivers, but it seems to ignore that as well. I’ve uninstalled those pesky HIDs many times(And unplugged/replugged the tablet accordingly), and disabling driver verification seems to do nothing for me. The Tablet Input PC service is shut off, I’ve done just about everything in that blog post already. I’m running Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition. Sorry about the lack of information in the original post, that was due to the character limit. Okay, so I got a Tumblr account, I just hope I’m typing this in the right place XD As you’re booting, FOLLOW POINT 2 AND DISABLE DRIVER VERIFICATION. After you restart, do not plug the tablet in, UNINSTALL THE MONOPRICE DRIVERS (or USE RESTORE POINT MENTIONED IN POINT 4) and then REINSTALL them again. "If you find the tablet still doesn’t work, and Windows is stubbornly installing those generic devil drivers, redo the steps in point 3. Double click on them, go to Drivers tab, uninstall. These will either be Window Generic HIDs and/or Wacom HIDs. Windows will refresh and new HIDs will appear on the list. “Plug in your Monoprice tablet, keeping a close eye on the HID list. The only HIDs you should be seeing in this sub-list are your mouse/keyboard HIDs. Go to Start Menu, search "Device Manager”, click “Device Manger” to open a new Window with a list. “Unplug all non-essential items from your computer, you want ONLY your Monitor, Speakers, Mouse and Keyboard plugged in. Then you go into the tablet driver settings and make sure “Support Tablet PC Feature” (sic) is unchecked.Īs for Windows being a jerk with HIDs, here is the following from draw2much’s deviantART FAQ (which I suspect you may have already found): I’m not sure what version of Windows you’re on, so if the 7 assumption is wrong, my apologies! If it’s currently running, click “Stop” to make it… well, stop. That makes it so Tablet PC services will stop loading at startup. Choose startup type and pick “Disabled” from the drop-down menu. Under Windows 7, the process looks like this: Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services > Look for “Tablet PC Input Service”. Having it on can make your cursor jump all over the place. It sounds to me like you need to turn off Tablet PC services. Hello, anonymous! If you can come off anon, we can correspond privately!
